The IRCCS Foundation

The Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico Foundation was created from the previously existing IRCCS (Institute for in-patient treatment and scientific studies) Maggiore Hospital of Milan and the Mangiagalli e Regina Elena Teaching Hospital. The result is a large hospital complex with a wide ranging combination of skills and structures. The purposes of the Foundation are excellence and high specialisation in health care and research, fostering skills and knowledge transfer in the biomedical field and in health services organisation and management. The objective is to develop technical-scientific knowledge targeted at patients’ health needs, proposing and evaluting diagnostic packets, innovative treatment and therapy courses based on the knowledge produced by basic and clinical research and biotechnological innovation.
